If you are a registered user of our Services (“Member”), you are consenting to the terms of this Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, and our User Agreement. We might change this Privacy Policy, providing you notice through messages within our Services, or through the contact information you provided us, including e-mail, mobile number, or physical address, to give you an opportunity to review our policy before becoming effective. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account.

    We collect data and information about the Services that you use and how you use them.

    When you use our Services, we may collect device and location information, such as hardware model, operational system, web browser, IP address, mobile network, and location. You may prevent location from being sent to us through your device settings. We use cookies and similar technologies to identify you and your device, and to collect and store information when you use our Services. You can control cookies through your browsing settings and can also opt-out from our use of cookies. You can check more details in our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, improve, protect, and maintain our Services. We also use this information to offer you more personalized Services, such as showing more relevant recommendations, search results, and advertisement.

How we use your data depends on how you use our Services and the choices you make in your settings.

  1. Profile

    Your company and personal profiles are fully visible to all Members.

  2. Posts, Likes, Follows, Shares, Comments, and Messages

    Our Services allow viewing and sharing information, including through posts and comments.

    • When you post, the default (which can be changed) is to share it publicly.
    • When you perform activities such as like, comment, or share another’s post, other users will see this.
    • When you follow a person or entity, you are visible to others as a follower.
    • We notify senders when you act on their message.
  3. Connections and Favorites

    You can use our Services to find other companies for business opportunities and connect with other users. It is your choice whether you select a company as favorite or send an invitation to connect to another user. It is your choice to accept or not someone else’s invitation to connect. All your favorite companies are held confidential and it is your choice to share your favorites with team members.

  4. Recommendations

    Our Services help you and others find relevant business opportunities and new connections. We use information provided by you to generate company recommendations to you, and to recommend you to other companies or users. We may use automated systems to profile and provide recommendations to help make our Services more relevant to our Members. Keeping your profile accurate and up to date may help you better connect to others and to opportunities through our Services.

  5. Messages

    We collect information about you when you send and receive messages in our platform.

  6. Advertising

    We target (and measure the performance of) ads to users of our Services using the following data, whether separately or combined:

    • Data from advertising technologies on and off our Services, like web beacons, pixels, ad tags, cookies, and device identifiers;
    • User-provided information (e.g., profile, contact information, title, and industry);
    • Data from your use of our Services (e.g., search history, feed, content you read, connections, favorites, ads clicked, etc.);
    • Information from advertising partners and publishers;

    We will show you ads called “sponsored” which look like non-sponsored content, except that they are labeled “ads” or “sponsored.” If you take an action on these ads, your action will be associated with your name and viewable by the advertiser.

    We adhere to self-regulatory principles for interest-based advertising and participate in industry opt-outs from such ads. This does not opt you out of receiving advertising; you will continue to get other ads by advertisers not listed with these self-regulatory tools.

    We do not share your personal data with any third-party advertisers or ad networks for their advertising except for: (i) hashed or device identifiers (to the extent they are personal data in some countries); (ii) with your separate permission (e.g., lead generation form) or (iii) data already visible to any users of the Services (e.g. profile).

  7. Premium Service

    We sell Premium Services that allow our subscribers to send messages to companies and users who are not their connections, get recommendations of companies for business purposes, access business analytics, among other features.

  8. Notifications

    We may notify you through email, mobile phone, alerts in our website or app, messages to your WeSpline inbox, and other ways through our Services, including text messages and push notifications. We may send you messages about the availability of our Services, security, or other service-related issues. We may also send messages about how to use our Services, network updates, reminders, recommendations, and promotional messages. You may change your communication preferences at any time. Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages from us, including security and legal notices.

  9. Analytics

    We use your data to produce and share aggregated insights that do not identify you. For example, we may use your data to generate statistics about our Members, their professions or industries, to calculate ad impressions served or clicked on, or to publish demographics for a Service.

    We may use your data in some ways:

    • Allow you to register, authenticate, and authorize access to our Services;
    • Communicate with you: we may contact you via internal alerts or your designated email about updates or news to our Services, reminders, updates, and issues;
    • Recommend companies and users: we use data provided by you and data on how you use our Services to recommend companies and users to you. It is your choice whether to select a company as favorite, or to connect or send a message to another user. When you connect or send messages to other users, they will receive a notification which will include your publicly available information.
    • Offer business analytics: we collect information about how users interact with companies, their preferences, and industry trends. We offer business insights on an aggregate level, based on our analysis of this data. However, your portfolio of favorite companies is held confidential, unless you choose to share it partially or totally with team members;
    • Enhance your experience when using our Services: we are constantly updating and creating new features. We use data and feedback to provide a better experience to our users;
    • Provide information and suggestions about special programs, challenges, job ads, webcasts, courses, conferences, and meetups;
    • Provide better and accurate results for Finder, our intelligent search engine;
    • Advertise: we use data from your public information and data on how you use our Services (e.g.: search history, likes, comments, favorites, and connections) to better target ads. Sponsored ads may show on your newsfeed and search results with the label “Ads” or “Sponsored”, and if you take actions on these ads, they may be viewable by the ad provider. However, we will never share your personal data with any third-party advertiser.

    We use information to conduct research and development to offer better experience of our Services.

    Our Services let you share information with others. You have the ability to control how we share your personal information with others.

    If you contact us with a question or problem, we may use your personal information to respond you.

    We may use information to produce aggregate insights, like reports and/or statistics. We will never identify your profile on those aggregate insights.

    We will never share your private personal information with third parties unless we are required to do so by law.

Choice, Transparency and Obligations

If you decide to close your account, we will remove your information from being visible to others within 24 hours. We generally delete your account information within 30 days after you close your account, but we will retain some personal and company information to, if necessary, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce User Agreement, or resolve disputes. We will never share your private personal information with third parties unless we are required to do so by law.

You have the right to access and/or take your data. You can ask us for a copy of your personal data in machine readable form.

You can edit all your personal data through your profile account. You can also ask us to change, update, or fix your data in certain cases, particularly if it is inaccurate.

You can ask us to stop using all or some of your personal data (e.g.: if we have no legal right to keep using it) or to limit our use of it (e.g.: if your personal data is inaccurate or unlawfully held).

We take security seriously. We implement security safeguards to protect your data, such as HTTPS. However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you share through WeSpline. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Lawful Bases for Processing

We will only collect and process personal data about you if we have lawful bases. Lawful bases include consent (if you have given us consent), contract (where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you), and “legitimate interests”.

Changing our Services and Contract

We are constantly developing and modifying our Services. We may add or remove functionalities. We may modify this Contract at any time.

We will provide you notice to give you opportunity to review these changes. You can stop using our Services and may close your account at any time. If you continue to use our Services after the notification, it means you have agreed to the new Contract.
